Birthday Weekend

Well, I have officially left my 20s. I have to admit, I'll miss my 20s. I had many life changing events occur in those 10 years and really learned who I was (still am?). I graduated from college, made some of the best friends I have today, had a successful and rewarding teaching career, got married, had Audrey, learned that taking care of 1 child is even harder than being with 18 every day, learned that being a stay at home mom isn't as easy as it sounds, etc etc. Of course, there are many more things that encompassed those 10 years but I thought I'd stick with the highlights. So, while the 20s shaped me into the person I am today, I look forward to learning and growing even more in my 30s.

But if this weekend was any clue as to how the next 10 years go, I think the 30s will be quite nice. :) My sweet and thoughtful husband, along with the help of my sister, Ashley, threw me a wonderful surprise birthday party. My youngest sister, whose birthday was also this past weekend, was even flown in from college for the party. Sneaky, very sneaky.

a little bling to celebrate the big day

we love cake- actually, we love the special plate :)

Even harder to believe than me being 30 is that Natalie (l) is now 20 and Ashley (r) is having a baby girl in August!

Next party- Audrey's 2nd. I think she was taking notes.

It was a great evening and I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and family who put this all together. Lucky for me, the birthday celebrations aren't exactly over. Now, the countdown begins for the next big party- a girls weekend in New York City! 43 days and counting...
