Slim Fast isn't just for losing weight...

it can also be stacked into a tower. Which, in my opinion, is a better use for it anyway- those things are NASTY! I figure that the people who say they lost weight using Slim Fast really just starved themselves because who can stomach that junk? So, you're probably wondering why they are in my home (and why I have to buy them weekly) if I am so repulsed by them? Well, I will tell you- Brett drinks them. No joke. For the protein? Gag me.

The box of "shakes" sits on on the floor of the pantry and Audrey thinks they are fascinating. I'm used to her playing with one or two of them so I didn't pay much attention when I was making dinner and she kept coming back in the kitchen for more. When I looked in living room, I saw that she was making this tower.

So, I left to dinner to simmer and watched her create a tower of Slim Fast. How can you deny her when she's so excited?

Now, it's time to get serious. 6 cans and counting...

7 cans

Aiming for 8 cans- I was only allowed to help with #8 and #9. Height advantage.

Whew! 9 cans

And in case you were wondering, what happens when 9 cans of Slim Fast fall down on the coffee table?

I would have cried if that was the first gash in the table but alas, it has many friends.

I think it's time to invest in some lightweight wooden blocks.

Cedar Hill Farm

Last weekend we went to this adorable farm in Mississippi. They had a petting zoo, railroad (aka big tractor pulling cute little wooden cars), pumpkin patch, corn maze, play area, etc. Most of my family came with us and we had a great time! I love this time of the year!! Here are a bunch of pictures from the farm...

Feeding the horses (well, Brett feeding the horses while Audrey watched- she wasn't too interested in sticking her hand out for some big animal to lick).

Enjoying her view from outside the fence.

Waiting in line for the train

My nieces, Hailey and Lauren, on the train.

Good times.

My dad shooting scarecrows with a corn cannon.

Audrey riding a pony with my sister, Ashley. She was about ready to jump off in this picture.

Checking out the pumpkins. Hmmm... I wonder if I can pick these up?

Of course I can! I work out with my dad!

Stopping for a picture.

Now I think I'll try a bigger one.

Well, maybe I need a little help.

Ashley and Audrey kickin' it on the hayride with their sunglasses.

Pure exhaustion.

Not a great family shot but it's the best one I got. Guess I should have attempted this at the BEGINNING of the day!

Little Friend

Yesterday morning, during a break in the rain, Brett and Audrey found a new little friend. This hummingbird was standing by the back door when they went out to feed the dogs. Naturally, the hummingbird took one look at the excitement on Audrey's face and ran as far away from her as it could get. Not the smartest hummingbird because it just ran to the flower beds instead of flying away (as a side note- Brett felt like it was a baby that wasn't sure how to fly- I felt like it might want to learn sooner rather than later with a toddler on the premises). I couldn't believe that it just sat there; although, I figure it was probably trying to play dead so we would quit gawking at it and Audrey would quit trying to pick it up! After the rain finally stopped today, Audrey was pitching a fit to go outside- of course I thought it was too wet but what do I know?- so after much arguing (can you call it that when your child can't form sentences???) I gave in and let her out. The first thing she did was walk over to where the hummingbird had been yesterday and turned to me with a serious look on her face and said her version of "it gone." So funny. I couldn't believe that she remembered the hummingbird! But, then again, why should I be surprised? She seems to always remember the many things I have told her not to do that she continues to do on a daily basis. Who knows? Maybe the bird played it right. Maybe I'll play dead tomorrow, too.

Time for a new fence???

I was talking to a friend this week and she was asking me if anything else had gone wrong after my "door drama" post. I should have knocked on wood when I told her that for now everything was fixed. This is what I came home to after our walk today. Luckily, this was less drama and more humor- and an easy fix by hammering the nails back in the fence. But Audrey was sad once it was fixed because she couldn't show them her belly button anymore ("bee bo" for all those Sandra Boynton lovers out there).
