Fun With Granny and Popa

Audrey and I went to visit my Granny and Popa Moore today. We had such a fun time visiting with them and eating lunch (thanks again!). I was so glad that I brought my camera because Audrey and Popa provided some great picture opportunities!

Audrey got to help Popa water all the flowers and feed the goldfish in the pond.

I can guarantee you the words coming out of her mouth as she was swatting Popa's hand away were, "No! Stop it, Popa! I do it!"

Audrey would smell the flowers...
and then run away giggling.

Her favorite word this week is princess. Doesn't she look just like a princess in this picture? Don't be fooled. "Pwincess" was sent to time out TWICE today at the gym for hitting. And so it begins... heaven help me!

All I heard until bedtime was "fun day," "Popa an Gwanny," "fish food," and "flowers." Thanks, Granny and Popa for a wonderful day!

Easter Weekend

Wow! What a busy weekend! Audrey attended 3 Easter egg hunts and as you'll see, by the end she was over the whole "gathering eggs" concept. But I think she had a lot of fun and amazingly, we didn't end up with a bunch of candy (thank goodness for little legs).

The first hunt was at church. They had a flashlight egg hunt for the kids Friday night and since I had to be there because I teach the little girls' class (we only have 1 girl in each age group so they combined all the girls to one class), Audrey got to tag along. They let all the kids 5 and under go first and Audrey ran past ALL the eggs in the field, grabbed the orange cone used to designate the areas to stay in and yelled, "I got it!" It was so funny!

Saturday morning we took her to Cedar Hill Farm for their egg hunt. I just love that place! She got to ride the ponies,
feed the animals (this time she actually fed them instead of watching),

ride the railroad,

visit the Easter Bunny (not quite sure about him, but no crying!)

ride the railroad again,

and take a hayride out to the egg hunt.

Such a fun place! Saturday afternoon we went to Brett's parent's house for Easter dinner. His mom and sister organized their annual egg hunt and fun was had by all. Although, at this point, Audrey decided she didn't need the eggs anymore. She would pick up an egg, get the candy out, and toss the egg on the ground.

Audrey with her cousins.

Even though the weekend was really busy, we had a wonderful time visiting with family, eating A LOT of great food, and remembering why we celebrate the Easter season.

Birthday Partying- Part Two

Brett and I decided this year to keep the partying simple so we just got together with our family and treated the kids to some fun at Chuck E Cheese. The minute we walked in, Audrey was gone. Gone to the games, gone to the rides, gone to see Chuck E himself, gone, gone, gone. And she didn't care who was with her. In fact, at one point, we were questioning if ANYONE was with her (actually, I didn't find out about that until a couple days later- I was busy making sure everyone was fed/hydrated/sugared up). But what a great day for her and I have to admit, it was soooo nice to pack up the car and leave the mess behind.

Great Grandma and Grandpa Moore came over earlier in the week to bring Audrey her present. It was this adorable stroller along with a baby carrier, swing, and high chair. Sooo cute and Audrey absolutely loves it.

I don't know who had more fun at Chuck E Cheese- Audrey or Popa. I have no doubt that if the car was made for adults, he would have been sitting next to her. :) We love you, Grandpa!

Audrey and Brett playing my most favorite game- Skee Ball.

We didn't see much of cousins Garet and Easton thanks to these cool chairs (and the action movie).

Justin kept everyone in line for me and gathered the crowd when it was time for cake and presents.

The boys, I mean, men, competed in a little basketball game. I'm not sure who won but I did hear a lot of cheers (and groaning) coming from that corner.

Audrey loved opening all her presents. I love this picture because while I was trying to show her the new clothes Granny Wright bought her, she was obviously looking at the camera like, "Someone please make her stop! I have more presents to open!"
Blowing out her candle. This was take 2 since the first time I lit the candle she blew it out immediately. And a little shout out for my lemon creme cupcakes. If you love lemon, you will love these cupcakes. I ate waaay too many of them myself and may in fact, make some more today. Yummmm.

Showing off her loot with Grandma McBride. What you can't see is her pockets filled with Laffy Taffy.

Princess Audrey crashed before we left the parking lot. But she must have had fun because woke up saying, "Partee."

Audrey is one lucky girl with so many people who love her. Thanks to those loved ones, she will be the best dressed, most entertained 2 year old this summer! We love you all!

Birthday Partying- Part One

When Audrey woke up Friday morning, she probably thought it was Christmas all over again. She was half awake (ok, me, too) and being told she couldn't come downstairs yet (she'll thank me years from now for getting the camera ready) only to find a new really fun toy. Brett had gotten her some balloons and I love the look the on her face in this picture when she saw her sand/water table.

"Choo Choo"

Of course, we've had a bit of cold weather lately so Brett suggested just putting it in the kitchen. Weeeell, just in case this crosses your mind one day- don't do it (duh!). Excited 2 yr old+water table= MESS. But she sure was having fun!

Next step- bundle her up and let her play outside.

I'm so glad she loves it. Now, if it would just warm up outside!

Happy Birthday, Audrey!!!!

My Little Girl is 2!!!!

I cannot believe it- AT ALL! Seriously? 2 years old?!?! It was just yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital, right? I think this past year has gone by even faster than the first year! But what a fun year it has been. Brett's cousin just had a baby (Congrats, Britney!) and looking at her pictures made me a little emotional as I thought back to Audrey being that small (and yes, I KNOW now would be a good time for another- all things in time, people). That first year seems like such a blur now. It was all about survival for me and now I wish I had enjoyed the quiet moments more! But Audrey's 2nd year has been more fun than I ever thought I could have being a mom. She has brought so much joy to my life and I feel so blessed and grateful to be her mother.

SOME of the things I love about Audrey:
1. She's a guaranteed dance partner.

2. How happy she is when she wakes up in the morning (even though she chooses to yell "Mommy! Get up!" instead of letting Daddy know she wants to get up- still working on that one).

3. All the hugs and kisses that I've been getting lately (I must thank “Barney” and his theme song for helping out with that one).

4. She loves turning every objects into hats.

5. She loves her daddy and wants to do everything he does (yea for the bubble lawnmower she got from grandma and grandpa- she and daddy are going to have a fuuun summer).

6. How she loves to take people to the front door when they are leaving our house and stand there until the car is out of sight saying, "Bye- Bye! See woo water! Have a gweat day!"

7. How she loves to bake with me (most days I have the patience for it) and will lick the bowl/spoon clean if needed. And even if it's not needed.

8. The funny meanings that some words have for her. For example: "ON!" only means turn up the radio (and don't you dare turn it to country- this is a hip/hop, rock/roll girl), "OFF!" is used only in reference to her clothes, "Ummm… sure"- always said instead of saying “yes”, "C’mon or C’mere, Momma" (simultaneously said while clapping her hands- causing you to feel like the child for a minute). She's also been saying, "Hurry, Momma!" a lot lately so I guess I need to work on my time management. :)

I was going to post my favorite pictures from the last year but I got so overwhlemed looking at them that I couldn't decide. So, I'll make up for it in the next couple of days by posting way more pictures than you ever wanted to see of her birthday party.
