REWIND: That's My Girl

I have been looking through all my pictures and I realized that I am way behind on documenting the events in our life the past few months. True, I just had a baby but I realized I haven't even posted about her birth. So, in an effort to catch up I'll be posting some REWIND's so I can hopefully record some of the funnier, more important events that I don't want to forget.

My current REWIND is from Audrey's spring preschool program. I couldn't go because I was on bed rest so my family very graciously stepped up and took her for me. My sister captured the program on camera while Brett had the video recorder going. If I can figure out how to upload from the video camera, I will have to post a video because she was by far the most enthusiastic, animated singer in her class. After they got home that night, my crying from having to miss the program was replaced by crying from laughing so hard. But I do believe this picture says it all.

While the older children are singing their songs, Audrey's class is supposed to be sitting quietly. Audrey, however, decides that was the best time to stand up and flash the entire crowd. You can actually hear people on the video laughing and it looks like the 4 year old's teacher thought it was pretty funny, too.

That's my girl.

2 Months Old

Since I've been such a bad blogger lately (in my defense, I've been at the beach for the past week), I thought I would post a video of Emily "talking." She has become more interactive in the past few weeks and each day she talks to us a little more. It'll probably be boring for anyone who's not family to watch, but I just love hearing the new sounds she discovers each day.

Strange Noises

So, if you need to convince your husband that your {guest} bathroom needs updating but he thinks it can wait, just tell him that you hear a weird noise coming from the wall. When he hears a spraying sound that reminds him a little too much of the sound that caused all of this damage a few months ago,

he will quickly cut open a {rather large} hole in the wall.

Luckily, to find that there isn't a broken water pipe {insert sigh of relief}. But what is making that sound? Upon further investigation, we discover the culprit...

(it was static from the radio that wasn't turned off the night before)

The Bad News: We have another hole in our wall that will need to be fixed.

The Good News: The wallpaper will finally be torn out of the bathroom and replaced with a happier, updated wall color.

The Best News: Our handy, dandy fix-it man will be doing it all for me {insert a second sigh of relief}. Audrey seems to be getting used to all the work that is delegated to the fix-it man because as soon as she saw it she asked if Leon was going to fix it. Actually, that's not true. The first thing she asked was "Why did Daddy put a hole in my wall?!?!" After I explained what happened, she then asked if (my bff) Leon was coming to fix it.

Unfortunately, now Audrey is afraid to go potty in her bathroom until the hole is fixed. She's scared that there is something watching her through that hole.

The upside to that is now I have one less bathroom I have to clean until the hole is fixed. Hmmm... maybe I should wait to call Leon...

EAT MOR CHIKIN

It's amazing what some parents will make their kids do
for a free meal...

Turns out their love of dressing up isn't restricted to just princesses. Can't wait to go again next year!

Playtime

What do you wear when you go outside to play? If you're Audrey, you wear your gymnastics leotard and rain boots.

I'm just grateful that she put clothes on.

A Special Day

Emily's blessing was today at our church and it was beautiful. We are very fortunate to live by most of our family and so it made it even more special to have them there today to share this special day with us. Because my brain is still functioning in a hazy, sleepless state, words do not come easily (well, words that would make sense), so here are some pictures...
{Many thanks to my cousin, Tori, for taking pictures of Emily for me! They turned out beautiful!}
I was talking to someone right before Emily was born (sure wish I could remember WHO I was talking to- HELLO brain! Will you ever function again?!?!) and I was experiencing the common feelings of "How can I possibly love the 2nd child as much as the 1st?" This person said, "You just do." I honestly thought at the time, "What do you mean, 'You just do???' How can it be that simple?" But I was amazed when she was born that it was indeed that simple. You suddenly can't imagine your family without this new little soul and it turns out your heart has plenty of room for love in it for another child. Maybe as my belly (and backside, face, arms, legs, and feet) grew so did my heart? Regardless of how it happens, Emily is the most precious, sweet little baby and I just can't get enough of her... or her kissable little cheeks.

Exhaustion

I have so much I want to blog about but this seems to be what we do the most of these days...

Hopefully, we will be among the land of the living soon and I can share what we've been up to when we aren't asleep!
