Overwhelmed

That was Brett's response when I asked him how he felt Friday when his co-workers threw him a surprise baby shower. I was overwhelmed, too, when he walked in our house with all of this...
Brett was most excited about the Home Depot buckets, Audrey was most excited about her coloring books and Disney store gift card, and I was thrilled to see all the cute clothes, books, toys, gift cards, and all the little things that you never think about needing until you actually need them! Since Audrey's 3 and no longer a baby, there are a lot of things that I haven't had around in awhile and being on bed rest put a major kink in going out and getting those last minute things. So, I am incredibly grateful to the sweet ladies (c'mon, men, you know they are the ones who did it) that he works with for giving us such a wonderful gift!

Everything seems to be coming together for this little one to arrive. Her room is painted (the lavender color in the picture), the bedding is almost done (thank goodness for mothers who can interpret ridiculous patterns), and I am completely stocked up on diapers for several months thanks to a couponing queen of a sister-in-law. Good thing because we will be going from a family of 3 to a family of 4 in just a couple of days. Ahhhh! Let the fun begin!

Wow--I've never known a man to get a baby shower before. How fun! I don't think Aaron would quite know what to do! I'm so glad that you are being taken care of. And glad that you are almost done with enforced bedrest--now you can just stay in bed if you want to :-) I'll be watching for updates!!!
