Door Drama

The drama never ends around here. In the 2 years we have lived in this house that I love, we've dealt with our grass dying thanks to grubworms (no thanks to the yard guys whose job it was to catch this and DIDN'T) and having to re-sod the entire front yard, had to replace rotted wood up by the roof and the painter then painted the new wood trim the completely wrong color. I had to personally take the paint back to the store to get the correct color and now our house looks normal again. Note to self: hire people who speak English. Then 2 of the 3 toilets in the house decided to make my life miserable. They both just need those new chain things to make it stop running after you flush so I can stop taking off the lid and manually doing it. We are close to fixing this one. The new pump/chain things have been bought and are sitting in the bag... where they have been for almost 2 weeks. Thinking I might have to figure this one out on my own. I guess I should first figure out the correct name for the part instead of "thingy."

If all that wasn't enough fun lately, now we have to replace the glass on our back patio door. Brett was mowing the lawn about a month ago and a rock or something hard flew into the door and shattered it. Thankfully, it was just the outside panel so Brett taped it up while we waited for the new glass to be ordered. This week, 2 1/2 weeks later, as my patience was wearing thin, the glass guy FINALLY came to replace the glass. Well, we have molding around our window and as the guy drills in the LAST screw around the window, my beautiful new, crystal clear glass becomes a shattered mess once again. He pretty much patted Brett on the back and told us that it would be at least 5 days before they would be able to come back out since they had to order another window- and he was gone. Yeah right, I'll be amazed if they get back here in 2 weeks! To make matters worse, the glass is now shattered from the inside so if/when it falls out, it will fall into my living room. Lovely. Of course, Audrey thinks the door is fascinating, so we had to put chairs in front of the door to detour her. So far, so good. If you click on the picture, you can get a better view of my new "stained-glass" door.

I wonder what will be next?

Sorry about all the crap. Not fun. Wes is installing a new patio door on Friday here. Cross your fingers! The toilet is an easy fix. You can do it in like 2 minutes.

I agree with Ashley who says the toilet is an easy fix! So sorry about all the drama. Owning a home is so much fun.

We know how you feel. It never ends, and no one knows how to do their job...plus they don't care. They smell bad too. Good luck with the door.

I laughed at this post because our back door window looks just like that. My husband was mowing and a rock hit it and shattered just like yours. I tell everyone that is was on purpose...we wanted it to look like that. hehehe

Holy Crap!!! I love that everyone else has issues with their house! I have a potty not working right, and I've had to become to "up-clos- and-personal" with everything in it!! Ahh, fun, :)
